Bus Routes

Considering Poly? We'd love to meet you!

Poly students travel to school from their homes in all five boroughs, New Jersey, and Long Island. There are no extra costs to ride the Poly buses which are used by 84% of the student body and include 40+ bus routes for the Dyker Heights campus and several routes for the Park Slope campus.

Each year, we optimize the bus transportation system to account for where our families live, closely reviewing and tweaking the routes—with more than 250 stops—to ensure safety and equity.

Bus Tracking: Want to see where your student is on route to or from Poly Prep? Once the annual routes are finalized, we provide families with bus tracking which allows them to see the location of their assigned morning and afternoon bus.

At the Lower School, many students arrive on foot, by scooter, bike, or car. Families who live more than a mile from the landmarked building often choose to use the Poly bus service. Adult monitors help our youngest students get used to being on the bus and supervise all the riders.

There is also a shuttle bus service between the Dyker Heights campus and the Park Slope campus each morning and afternoon.

At Dyker Heights, most students stay after school for clubs, theater rehearsals, sports practices, and other activities. The Dyker Heights campus has two afternoon bus runs at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM that go in the reverse of the morning routes.
